"The Gospel Acc. to St. Arbucks: Bean There"
Ephesians 2: 19-22

Monday
Hebrews 10:24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. 25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another.....

Yesterday's sermon scripture points out one blessing of meeting together: encouragement. Pray for someone you know who needs encouragement. Is there some way God is leading you to help? If you are in need, pray for God to bring the right person into your circle of relationships.

Tuesday
Jude 1:20 But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. 21 Keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
22 Be merciful to those who doubt; 23 snatch others from the fire and save them; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.

According to tradition, Jude was one of the brothers of Jesus, along with James. This little used letter in the Bible emphasizes the communal nature of being a Jesus follower; it is not just about "my personal relationship with Jesus" but our role in the family of faith. Today pray for the church family.

Wednesday
Blest be the tie that binds our hearts in Christian love;
the fellowship of kindred minds is like to that above.
(John Fawcett, 1782)

This old hymn may not be scripture, but it's close. Take it as your walking around prayer today.

Thursday
Acts 2: 42 They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

All of our M's (our church's mission) are here: magnify God in worship, make new disciples, mature as disciples, minister to a hurting world, and meeting together to make it all possible. Pray that our church and each of our lives would look more and more like this.

Friday

1 Thessalonians 5:10 He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. 11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

The purpose of a Third Place is to encourage community through conversation. In a church it is so we can build each other up, gain strength from each other, and learn to live as disciples together. Pray that our church would be a place where this happens.
