"The Gospel Acc. to St. Arbucks: On Solid Grounds"

Sunday's sermon was based on Starbucks personnel training and benefits. If we were to say what the church's mission is in as few words as possible it would be: to make disciples for Jesus Christ.
Here's another way of meditating and praying scripture - to take on the first part of a sentence ("I ask God ... to make you...) and then insert different words that are a part of the list, each day using a different end phrase ("intelligent," "knowing Him" etc.,) and then use that as the basis for your daily prayer.

Monday, Ephesians 1:17(sel) I ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, to make you intelligent....
Prayer phrase: "God, make me a student of Jesus."

Tuesday, Ephesians 1:17(sel) I ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, to make you .....discerning
Prayer phrase: "God, help me know what is from You and what is not."

Wednesday, Ephesians 1:17(sel) I ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, to make you .....knowing (Jesus) him personally...
Prayer phrase: "God, help me to know Jesus personally."

Thursday, Ephesians 1:17-18(sel) I ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, to make you .....your eyes focused and clear
Prayer phrase: "God, help me to keep my eyes on Jesus."

Friday, Ephesians 1:17-18(sel) I ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, to make you .....see exactly what it is he is calling you to do.....
Prayer phrase: "God, help me see my mission and purpose."

Saturday
, Ephesians 1:17-19(sel) I ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, to make you .....grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life he has for his followers.....
Prayer phrase: "God, help me embrace your glorious life."
