Regular get-togethers to enjoy each other’s company are as important to a church family as to any family. It keeps us close-knit.

Here’s a list of the regularly-scheduled events, but keep an eye on the calendar because we are always looking for another reason to gather, to connect, to laugh and to grow with each other.

To get in touch with the people who organize these events, contact the church office either via e-mail or call (260) 637-3798.

Family Programs

Prime Time Dinner
On Wednesdays from September through May, we have a kid-friendly dinner along with a salad bar and homemade desserts in Fellowship Hall. The meal is served continuously from 5:30 to 6:30. The cost is $3.00 per person, with a family maximum of $8.00. Prime Time classes and choirs meet from 6:30 to 7:30. Good news - Prime Time has been extended into summer!

Camps for everyone
From kindergartners to seniors, from rock climbing to choral music, from day camps to week long camps, there is a United Methodist camp for you. Most of the camps are held in Northern Indiana (such as Camp Lakewood located just north of Kendallville).

Family Events
We like to have fun as a church family and several times a year get together just to enjoy each other. Keep an eye on the calendar for events such as Lazer X, roller-skating, swimming, concerts, and movies. These events are for everyone -- singles and families, young and young-at-heart, male and female, church members and members of the community.

Periodically we sponsor retreats for women, men, teens or families, so keep your eye on the calendar or ask the staff about any plans.

Women’s Programs

Mothers’ Group
From September to May, moms of all ages meet at the church on the second and fourth Thursday of the month, 9-11 A.M. It is a time of meaningful sharing as well as warm fellowship with coffee, tea, juice and baked goods! Baby-sitting is provided for both infants and toddler and costs only $1 per child. Each nursery is staffed with two adult sitters.

United Methodist Women
The UMW is organized for missions, locally and around our world. UMW wants to encourage women to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ. We support each other through our fellowship and we learn about needs of missions in our local community and overseas. We try to meet these needs as God leads us.

As servants of God we provide and serve funeral dinners for grieving families, we sew cancer pads for patients, and we sew lap robes for nursing home residents.

In our monthly gatherings, we share prayer concerns, provide refreshment for the soul and the body in the form of devotions and food, and listen as speakers inform us of a variety of Christian topics. Any woman who expresses a desire or who has a heart for missions is invited to be one of over 1 million women in the world who are part of the UMW missions!

Memory makers
Never have time for scrapbooking? If you would like to learn how to get started, want some new ideas, or just enjoy gabbing as you work, join us for an evening of capturing our memories for future generations. We meet on the third Friday of every month from 7-11 P.M. Watch the calendar for the next meeting.

Retreats and Conferences
There are times when you need to retreat from the hectic pace of your daily life to draw closer to God. Whether it is a retreat sponsored by HUMC or a national conference, such as Women of Faith, watch the calendar for the next opportunity for you to recharge your batteries.
