“Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it
.”
(Proverbs 22:6)

But Jesus called the children to him and said, 'Let the little children come to me.'”
(Luke 18:16)

“...and a little child will lead them all.”
(Isaiah 11:6)

So now the Lord called a third time, and once more Samuel jumped up and ran to Eli, 'Here I am,' he said. 'What do you need?' Then Eli realized it was the Lord who was calling the boy.”
(I Samuel 3:8)

We are a kid-friendly church, patterning our love for the little ones after Jesus. We think kids are important because Jesus did. We know how important it is to pass our faith to the next generation.

Sunday Morning

We love to worship with children and value their presence in worship. We also know it is important for them to have kid-focused worship. We offer a blend of both

Activites (and Events)

There is always something happening at the church for children. Watch the calendar for details.

  • Children's Choirs
  • Wednesday Meal
  • Vacation Bible School (VBS)
  • 4th and 5th Grade Youth Group
  • Camps
  • Christmas Activities

HUMC Preschool

A loving place for your one- to five-year-old to grow socially, physically, cognitively, emotionally, and spiritually. With four age-based programs and both morning and afternoon classes, you can select a program to meet your child's needs and your schedule.

Bibles

Because it is never too soon to learn from God's Word, we believe every child should have an age-appropriate Bible.

An illustrated story Bible is given to 2- and 3-year-old children as their very first Bible. In the 3rd grade, when the children are better readers, we give them the New International Version of Kids Study Bibles. Finally, at confirmation (grade 6), the children receive a Teen Study Bible, NIV. All Bibles are printed with the child's name and are a gift from HUMC.

If children come into the church and have missed receiving a Bible, let us know and we will get one to them.
